DEVELOP JOINTLY PRIVACY

Your privacy matters to us.

Develop Jointly is designed to give users meaningful control over the information they provide while keeping the amount of personal information we hold to a minimum.

Effective date: 29 August 2026
Privacy Commitment

Responsible use of your information.

We do not sell or rent user information. We aim to collect only what is reasonably required to operate the app and provide the features users choose to use.

Privacy By Design

Clear information about what we collect, why we use it and the control you have.

This Privacy Policy explains how Develop Jointly handles information provided through the app, including profiles, messages, groups, developments, referrals and account management.

Our Privacy Commitment

At Develop Jointly, protecting the privacy of our users is a fundamental part of how we operate. We treat user information with care and take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the information entrusted to us.

We do not sell or rent user information, and we do not disclose user information to third parties for unrelated advertising or marketing purposes. Information is only disclosed where necessary to operate the app, where required by law, or where a user deliberately initiates a feature such as a builder referral and the disclosure is necessary to provide that requested service.

Where it is necessary to operate, secure or provide the app, limited information may be processed by trusted service providers acting on our behalf. Those providers are expected to use the information only for the services they provide to Develop Jointly and to protect it appropriately.

How We Collect and Use Information

Most information held by Develop Jointly is information that users choose to enter, upload, create or send while using the app. This includes profile information, messages, group information, development information, photographs and descriptions.

We use this information to create and maintain user accounts, display profiles, enable users to find and interact with one another, provide private and group messaging, operate groups, display developments, provide notifications, facilitate user-requested builder referrals, maintain the security of the service and support the normal operation of the app.

We do not use information collected for one purpose for unrelated advertising or marketing purposes.

Information We Do Not Hold

Develop Jointly does not store personal financial information such as bank account numbers, credit card numbers, debit card numbers, tax information or similar financial records.

We do not hold personal identification documents, copies of identification documents, or information that directly references identification documents.

Information We May Store About You

Our database may hold information that a user chooses to provide when using Develop Jointly. This can include the user's chosen name, username, email address, country, state or region, city of residence, profile picture, background picture and a description supplied by the user explaining their purpose for using the app.

The database may also contain messages relating to the user and their interactions with other users of the app.

To operate and secure the service, we may also hold limited account and technical information such as account identifiers, authentication information, notification delivery tokens, timestamps and similar service information required for the app to function.

Users can update or change editable profile information they have provided at any time through the features made available inside the app.

Location Information

Develop Jointly may store the country, state or region and city that a user chooses to provide as part of their profile, group or development information.

This information is used to help users understand where other users, groups and developments are located. It is not intended to represent continuous or precise GPS tracking.

Development Information

Develop Jointly may store information relating to property developments created through the app. This can include the address of the development, photographs, descriptions and references to the app users involved in that development.

Development information remains associated with the users and groups involved so that the development can be displayed and managed correctly within the app.

A user may only delete a development if that user created it. A user who did not create the development cannot change or delete the development data.

Group Information

The app may store information about groups a user creates or joins. This can include the group name, description, city, state or region, country, profile picture, background picture and information identifying the users who are members of the group.

Group information can be updated while the user remains a member of that group. A user does not need to be the original creator of the group in order to change permitted group information while they remain a member.

Only the user who created a group can delete that group. Other group members cannot delete a group they did not create.

Builder Referrals

Develop Jointly includes an optional “Refer to Builder” feature that a user may choose to use when their group wishes to discuss its building requirements with a builder.

When a user chooses to generate a referral, Develop Jointly may provide the builder with that user's email address together with the name and contact telephone number the user provides when creating the referral.

Before the referral is sent, the user is shown a clear disclosure explaining what information will be provided to the builder. The referral is only generated after the user affirmatively agrees to proceed.

The builder receives this information solely so that it can contact the user regarding the group's building requirements. The information is not provided for unrelated advertising, marketing, data-brokerage or any other unrelated purpose.

The builder is expected to treat the referral information as confidential, use it only for responding to the referral and discussing the group's building requirements, and not use or disclose the information for unrelated purposes except where required by law.

Users are also asked to ensure that the other members of their group are aware that a builder referral is being generated. No other group member's email address, name, telephone number or other personal contact information is provided to the builder as part of that referral.

Trusted Service Providers

Develop Jointly may rely on trusted technology and infrastructure providers to perform functions necessary to operate the app. Depending on the service being provided, these providers may process limited user or device information on our behalf. These infrastructure providers are separate from a builder that receives information through a user-initiated builder referral.

These functions can include cloud hosting and storage, account authentication, notification delivery, email delivery, security, error reporting, diagnostics and other infrastructure required to keep the app operating.

We do not permit trusted service providers to use Develop Jointly user information for their own unrelated advertising or marketing purposes.

Device Permissions

Some app features may request access to device functions such as photos, the camera or notifications. Access is requested only when it is relevant to a feature the user chooses to use.

Users can control device permissions through the settings provided by their device operating system. Where a permission is optional, refusing or withdrawing that permission may prevent the related feature from working but should not prevent access to unrelated parts of the app.

Your Control

Your information remains in your control.

Develop Jointly gives users control over the information they provide. Profile information and other editable information can be changed at any time using the features provided inside the app. Users can also deactivate their account or permanently delete it directly through the app.

Deactivating or Deleting Your Account

Develop Jointly gives every user two separate options for managing or removing their account, and both options are available directly inside the app.

The first option is to deactivate the account. When an account is deactivated, the user's profile is treated as inactive. Other users cannot see that profile in the app's search feed and cannot interact with that user while the account remains inactive. Develop Jointly continues to retain the user's account information so the account can be reactivated later simply by logging back in.

The second option is to permanently delete the account. When a user chooses permanent deletion, Develop Jointly permanently removes the user's account information from our active systems. Once this process has been completed, that account information cannot be recovered and the deleted account cannot simply be reactivated by logging back in.

Both options can be selected from inside the app without requiring the user to contact Develop Jointly separately.

Data Retention and Deletion

While an account remains active, we retain the information reasonably required to provide the app and its features. If an account is deactivated, we continue to retain its information so the account can be restored when the user logs in again.

When a user permanently deletes their account, account information associated with that account is deleted from our active systems. Information that forms part of a shared group, shared development or conversation involving other users may need to be handled in a way that preserves the integrity of those shared records while removing or disassociating the deleted user's personal account information where appropriate.

If we are required to retain limited information for a legitimate reason such as security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, enforcement of our rights or legal and regulatory obligations, we will retain only the information reasonably necessary for that purpose and only for as long as required.

Protecting Your Information

Develop Jointly takes user privacy seriously. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect user information from unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure.

We aim to collect and retain only the information reasonably required for the app to function and to limit access to user information to the systems and services that need it to provide the app.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when our app, technology, legal obligations or data practices change. When we make material changes, we will update the policy made available through the app and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.

Users should review the current version of this Privacy Policy from time to time so they remain informed about how Develop Jointly handles user information.
