Develop Jointly gives people the tools to meet, communicate and form groups. The users themselves decide whether they want to pursue a project and which professionals they want to work with.
Nine steps from your first login to verified development experience.
Develop Jointly is designed around a simple process. You begin by creating your profile and meeting other people. From there you can form a group, discuss what you want to achieve, optionally connect with a builder and ultimately record completed development experience.
Create Your Account
Getting started is simple. Create your Develop Jointly account by signing in with Apple or Google, or by signing up manually.
You will then provide some general information about yourself, including where you are located and why you are using the app. This helps other users understand who you are and what you are interested in achieving.
Search and Start Conversations
Use the search feature to find other members in your area who are interested in property, construction and development.
Start conversations, learn about what other people are hoping to achieve and begin building relationships with people whose goals may be compatible with your own.
Create a Group or Join One
When you meet people you may want to work with, you can create your own group and invite suitable members to join.
You can also request to join an existing group created by another user.
Groups are the main collaboration space inside Develop Jointly. They allow members to communicate with one another and explore whether they are suitable to work together on a possible development.
Important conversations should happen before anyone decides to move forward.
Where the group would like to develop.
Approximate budgets and borrowing capacity.
The type and scale of project being considered.
Income stability and ability to service financial commitments.
Experience, knowledge, expectations and commitment.
Decide Whether the Group Is Ready
Once you are part of a group, use the group messaging features to openly discuss what type of project the members are interested in pursuing.
Important topics may include preferred locations, approximate project budgets, borrowing capacity, how much each person may be comfortable contributing, expected timeframes and the type of development the group wants to explore.
Group members should also consider whether everyone has sufficient financial stability, understanding, experience and commitment for the type of project being discussed.
This stage is your opportunity to decide whether the group is genuinely ready and whether the people involved are suitable to work together before progressing any further.
Refer the Group to a Builder
When the group believes it is ready to take the next step, a group member can open the group page and select the red “Refer to Builder” button.
The referring user is shown a disclosure explaining what contact information will be sent and must agree before the referral is generated. The referral is then sent to the builder selected for the relevant country and state or region.
Using the referral feature is optional. The group remains free to choose whether it wants to engage the referred builder.
Speak With the Builder
After the referral is received, the builder can contact the nominated group representative to discuss the proposed development and better understand what the group is trying to achieve.
The builder can discuss the proposed project, construction options, likely requirements, indicative costs and the steps that may be involved in progressing toward a build.
The builder can then work directly with the group throughout the construction process if the group independently decides to proceed with that builder.
Develop Jointly does not require users to engage the referred builder. The group remains responsible for deciding whether the builder, proposed contract, pricing and project are suitable for them.
Complete the Development
If the group decides to proceed, the members can work with their chosen builder and relevant professionals to complete the development.
The project itself remains the responsibility of the group, builder and any independent professionals involved. Develop Jointly is the platform that helped the users meet and collaborate.
Create the Development in the App
When the project has been completed, a member of the group can use the “Create Development” feature to add the completed development to the app.
The group can provide information about the project, including its location, description, photographs and the members who were involved. This creates a record of the group's completed development experience.
Submit the Development for Verification
After the development information has been created, a group member can select the “Get Verified” option.
Develop Jointly may then contact the builder or other relevant source to confirm that the development was completed and that the information submitted by the group is consistent with the completed project.
If the information can be satisfactorily verified, Develop Jointly can approve the development so that it becomes publicly visible as a verified development associated with the relevant users and group.
Verified experience becomes part of your profile.
As you participate in more verified developments, other users can see that experience when considering whether they may want to collaborate with you. A proven history can help demonstrate that you have participated in real projects and gained practical experience.
